Is procrastination really evil?

April 25, 2012

I have been struggling lately with chronic amounts of procrastination – I’ve tried forcing myself to do things, fighting against my instincts and giving myself severe talkings to. The single most important thing YOU need to know about marketing

March 13, 2012

Marketing is often seen as a bit of a dark art; a shady business with complicated rules and impenetrable jargon. Those of you who read this blog regularly will know that I am all for shattering this illusion and helping people to understand that good marketing is simply good communication – the art of saying the right thing, to the right people, at the right time, in the right place. Getting started

February 22, 2012

One of the most difficult aspects of being a creative is getting started. You probably find yourself struggling to get to the computer or easel or whatever it may be, and this struggle is not uncommon.

I used to believe that because I didn’t fall into music making with a smooth slide, I was never really meant to do it. However, the more I hear of other people’s struggles, the more reassured I am that it’s the choice to create that promotes the struggle. Read more…

How safe is your business from competitors?

February 1, 2012

Need more work? Just ask…

January 18, 2012

One of the easiest and quickest sources of more work is often the most overlooked of all. It is simply to ask your clients, both past and present, if they have anything else they need your help with.

How do you do it?

The first thing you need to do is make a list of all your clients (past and present) with details of the work you carried out for them. Read more…
